Church of Saint Nicholas - Probota Monastery

This church was the family crypt of prince Petru Rares, who built it in 1530 near the site of an older church from the end of 14th Century.

It was painted around 1532 and it is richly decorated on the inside.

In 1550, by the efforts of Petru Rares's widow, it was fortified with strong defending walls. Visiting this place you'll discover a unique and almost unreal tranquility.
